In the middle of the 20th century, Joseph E. Seagram & Sons provided a wide variety of marketing materials for store owners to display, including oversized empty whiskey bottles identical to their product in every way except contents. In that era, their store displays were made from the same glass as their bottled whiskey.
The surviving examples of these glass store displays are VERY RARE, especially given their low production numbers, age and the relative fragility of glass. CONDITION Despite being over 70 years old, the overall condition of the bottle is VERY GOOD In the close up photos, you can see that the glass is chipped all around the top of the neck. This is NOT DAMAGE, the bottle left the Seagram's factory this way. Aside from the chipped neck, the glass is in VERY GOOD condition. The front label is remarkable and is still clearly legible.ALL PHOTOS ARE OF THE ITEM LISTED. This may very well be the cleanest and best preserved bottle of this type in the world today.
